ME being the Mayhem Maker.

It’s Jan 17 - exactly 4 weeks to opening night. We’re working out a RunAroundTelephoneGame.Working now to bring the GAME to life, making the PLAYING work in more obvious structures - hoping these will make the dancers work, tune-in and play but also allow the audience some simple frameworks to understand that a game is being played - and to create Plays that have enough room in them for audience members to join and keeping the full space alive - bringing more of the activity off of the stage - immersive - all around you.

Jan 18 - We’re hooking up half the cast with AIM, IM Forwarding and Signed up on Agenttown to Play GroundCrew. The idea being that we’ll start playing and giving each other assignments and missions now, so the game begins before the official show. AND - each performer begins recruiting additional agents among their friends and family so that by showtime there is already a mindset established in the community for playtime. The goal is for members of the audience to come ready to participate. During the actual show ***hopefully*** these agents will receive missions that relate to the activity of the dancers so that it becomes one big, interactive… game. I’m tired of that word right now. But that’s the plan. What I loved was when we walked into the Design Lab today a woman asked “What class is this?” and Katie A responded “It’s a dance piece.” I’m pretty excited that part of the dancer’s rehearsal process happened in a computer lab. Is that dorky? They’re an amazing, open and willing crew.
